Morning guys.
Every Saturday morning there is a market down here in Colchester. Always intresting to see what's for sale. Everything from vices to lawnmowers.

We have a localish one every Thursday but by the time you pay the buyers premium coupled with the daft bidding it's not worth going.

Have seem a lot of tooling sell for more than you can buy it new and any real good stuff like vices or anvils you need a very full wallet to buy them.

The engine looks interesting, some sort of generator?, looks like a Selenium rectifier at the back.

If the Seller was going to tart it up 'restore' it, why did he stop at the exhaust and a rattle can job on the paint?

Yes it can be like that here. But as a rule things sell for pounds and don't fetch to much money. I often have a look because I am looking for a small draw filing cabinet

Apparently these were dropped from planes during ww2 for the troops on the ground. It's a little generator. How true that is I don't no.

A mate of mine's wife is tidying up his "rubbish" and sent some items to a local auction at thirsk, A nice old leg vice brought £4-00.

Chap I bought mine from had about 40 sets of 20 drawer bisleys.
Regret not buying more at a score a piece.

The exhaust looks like a late addition to somethink of genuine interest..
Personally, I stay well away from such places, or, leave my wallet with the misses. Otherwise, I would have even more valuable gems (my opinion..) cluttering up my workshop.

Probably correct, used for charging radio batteries which explains the screened HT lead.
