Sandblasting Query

Hi all,

I have a 4x4 chassis that I got sandblasted towards the end of June and for health reasons the project stalled and the chassis is sat in a workshop since then untreated, the plan was to give it an acid bath and then galvanise but I'm still a month away from been able to do it, other than specks of new rust here and there and oily paw marks it's not too bad but I'm worried if I've left it too long..?

4 hours is the normal open time for coating over clean blast, but it depends on conditions.
If it's somewhere clean and dry, it could last for ages.
If it's damp and by the sea it will last minutes.

If it was badly rusted the rust will come out of the pits first. If it looks OK it should be fine.
The acid dip will deal with any flash rusting.

stipulate a hot acid bath before it's galvanised.....but most galv companies will insist on that anyway....
dont worry about the time.....any bad bits give them a clean as u take it in....
