s/steel kitchen sink

we cannot get a kitchen sink that measured 1060mm x 520mm.
why do manufacturers keep changing sizes
so what is the best method to clean the old one up.
it has quite a few minor scratches.
our thought is clean it put new taps on and fit 2 separate 'U' bends in it etc. my brother in law fitted 2 'U' bends and only one outlet, so if the washer is emptying it tends to rise up in the bowl area.
so how or the best way to spruce the old one up.

rub the deep scraches out with fine wet and dry and polish up with rubbing compound on a mop and drill quite a thankless task to be honest

Solvol Autosol is one of the best stainless cleaners/polishers for getting the final finish after the scratches have been removed

hey! got a fair wee bit of experience of this kinda thing! worked as a stainless fabricator for an catering equip firm for about 6 years! if we ever had 2 clean up old benches or sinks wee found that the best method of doing so was 2 use scotch pads and wet the surface with wd40! try 2 avoid rub down compounds at all costs! it is very difficult 2 maintain a consistant grain in the material as the mop wheels tend 2 leave a slightly wavy effect! make sure u use the scotch pad in straight lines backwards and forwards as it is difficult 2 remove any scratches that go across the grain! then when ur finished just spray on some more wd40 and wipe down with a cloth! it will surprise you just how good a shine it will leave on the surface!!!

yes-- scotch brite, Brillo soap pads with plenty of water,
BUT do remember some of the newer stainless steel sink tops are just a stainless coating, not solid stainless, test yours with a magnet first,,not definative but a good guide

yep! good point! though 430 grade stainless will also react 2 a magnet!! its not the best of stuff! but unfort theres a fair chance thats wot the sink could be made from!

These folks might be able to help, they were making stainless sinks a few years ago when I put in a robot to weld the bowl to the drainer. Might be a bit pricey for a one-off though.

Are you sure you cant buy a slightly bigger sink than the one you have , then just cut out the hole in the worktop and drop it in
