Rust removal "washing machine" for vehicles.

I'm playing with the idea of making a car vehicle chassis "derusting machine".

Something along the lines of a garden sprinkler spraying homebrew "evaporust" fluid [1] in a constant stream underneath the car.

It seems that I'll need three main parts:

A fluid containment system: a "tray" (paddling pool or cut down ibc) + a "curtain" to catch over spray.
A pump.
A filter.

I'm just wondering what sort of pump id need?
I'm thinking maybe a dishwasher "circulation" pump?

The idea is to be able to treat the entire underside of a vehicle with rust remover, without needing to submerge it in a few thousand liters of fluid.

On a smaller scale, and as a "proof of concept" initial experiment, I'm planning to adapt a small hydroponic setup to de-rust my "left in a hedge" Elliot progress 1 drill press.

Sounds like it would turn into a bit of a mess with stuff dripping everywhere.

Could you roll the car on its side? I have a rollover jig and works quite well with a few precautions...bolts to the axles.

you would be better with aldis pump sprayer that can also be fitted with a motor to pump it while you work

as goes for containment of the water and collection system you would need sheeting into a collection tray

but you want the sprayer to go across and then up and down so it gets to every part of the chasi of the car

About the time of the original 'DIY Evaporust' thread, I remember seeing a US youtube video where they were doing just that. It wasn't the main part of the video, but part way through, they peeled back a tarp to reveal a shell sitting inside with several lawn sprinklers squirting something like evaporust on the underneath and inside. I've been unable to find the video again, but IIRC, they said it took weeks. They had polythene, or something suspended under the whole thing that caught the liquid and funneled it back to a small tank.

I guess volume is more important than pressure, so a centrifugal pump (something like a shower booster pump?) might work OK. Fairly tolerant of small pieces of debris, too.
