Rust in Peace

Hi All,

I am sorry I just realised that I started to post without introducing myself ;
- Enjoying all sorts of Italian rust (Lammies, Alfas, etc..) I was going to need to weld at some point; I think I found the best place here, Internet is so useful for anybody wanting to do some DIY.

Not equipped yet (except a nice Speedglas), looking for 1) advice on purchase, 2) excuses for the first dodgy welds, 3) then hopefully one day some congratulations on artistic welds !

Welcome to the forum Fred, although not a car welding guy, from reading on here I think if I was I would be looking for a Clarke MIG, unless you want to spend a few notes then a portamig due to it's low amps....don't forget to load some piccy's up.

I was at my local welding supplier today.
They had a great Speedglas Skull type helmet on display.

So Sparkey, if I buy one will I look cool and beocme an instant welding god?
