Runs in epoxy primer - best way to sand them

Its the first time I have used this, its Lechlar epoxy, 2:1 mix with 5% epoxy thinners and sprayed with a 1.8 tip.

Most of the bits I have been painting today are small components such as rocker covers, air filters etc. on my tractor. I thought I would do these before I tackled the big panels, however I still want a decent finish on 'em.

I have a few runs, should I continue and add a second coat wet on wet as I intended then deal with the run, or stop, let it cure and sand out the run?

I would stop and deal with it now, as there is a chance of cut through when trying to fix which would mean an extra coat.

Thanks, you confirmed what I thought. I was hoping to get all the epoxy done today on this batch of bits, oh well, no chance now as I have to pick to the kids up at 3:30.

Just flat them out like you would any other run, you should be using 10% thinner

Anyone ever tried the stencil or Devilbiss Shim-Mask for removing runs or blemishes?. Just wondered if they had a use in the paint shop.

Yes I've got one similar form ebay. They are quite useful for getting the worst of the run out.

Razor blade with a turn of tape on each end, painters don't get runs, they are flow checks

I must be a very careful painter then, regularly checking my flow rate!!
