Anyone going to follow or have an interest in?
I read an article a number of years ago where an American or Austrialian rugby coach (can't remember which) decided to see if he could draft kids who missed out on college sponsorships. His reasoning was that because there were so few sponsorship places compared to good athletes that he'd have a huge pool of top athletes to choose from. Not really, but I'd prefer to watch guys who can take a tackle, than those over paid pansy footballers that just roll around on the ground holding their ankle when they get a bump...
PS. I'd like to see the two teams, one of world class footballers against a team of world class rugby plays.
One game of footy and one of rugby, I wonder how many footy boys would be left standing after running into a team possibly better than the "All Blacks".
sums up the response nicely. Then they asked about when the game was going to stop, um they get a break for 10 minutes at the 40 minute mark and then go again for another 40 minutes. Yeah but when to they swap out players: about half will stay on for the full 80 minutes. So he got them training and started teaching them the rules and then found another local amateur Aussie team to play against. Even their amateur's fattest prop managed to outrun the fastest guy half way through the game (bearing in mind this was a kid who could have potentially become an olympic sprinter if he was a tiny bit faster, trouble was he usually got put on oxygen after 10s of work).I guess you are Scottish...lolYep when time allows, got time now! Beginning to wish I hadn’t
Well done Ireland, will Scotland ever stop making stupid mistakes? Hope Hamish makes a quick recovery.
Did you actually read the thread title? Not really, but I'd prefer to watch guys who can take a tackle, than those over paid pansy footballers that just roll around on the ground holding their ankle when they get a bump...
