Rubber grease

Wanted some red rubber grease to rebuild my brake calipers with new seals/pistons so called into a couple of local motor factors one of the biggest in Brum with no joy, even resorted to Halfrauds where they offered me coppaslip as apparently it will do the same job! .

Got some delivered fron the "bay" today, does no-one use it these days?

Yes we use it on callipers, as trannys have like a rubber rawlplug sleeve on one of the calliper pins, if copperslip us used it softens the rubber and the pins jam. Last new calliper i bought had a little sachet of rubber grease included with it.

Car shops including halfraud will tell you anything, like just put fully synthetic oil in any engine thats the best you can get. Idiots in my opinion

evil bay seems cheapest....rubber grease
,think a lot of people just use silicone grease although i prefer the red stuff...

I bought a tub from the local spares shop, my wife drives for them on Saturdays. It cost about £7 and is called Renolit red rubber grease. This stuff. edit:-same as Gav's link.
