rtech mig welder/rtech plasm cutter

hello all,
i may be in the mood to part with some money soon if finances allow (partner)

wondering what i should but ive always wanted a decent mig welder but at the same time always wanted a plasma cutter for well cutting profiles cutting plates for skips ect. and was wondering what was a better buy

Hi dp,
I guess your choice is going to hinge on whether you want to weld stuff or cut stuff

If you already have a half decent MIG then plasma cutters are great - I use mine all of the time. It's great for cutting sheet but I also use it for cutting off lengths of flat. My plasma is a Hypertherm but R-Tech seem to have a good reputation. Don’t forget you will need a source of clean dry air.

ive got a clarke 135 i think i never really use it got some co2 with it too i think
i got a thermal arc 175 stick/tig welder and it is besides that mate its so hard to choose
if i had the money mate it would be thermal arc kempi hypertherm all day long but as im on a budget and have not brought a car or anything else stupid i would treat my self to something and maybe a miller elite welding mask
or put stickers on mine

I have just bought the Imig 160 and the p30c plasma from r-tech.

I got the plasma first and was so impressed with it that I ordered the mig the next week!

The build quality is excellent, the plasma wil sever 10-12mm and rips through thinner stuff like butter. I have it on a 7cfm 60ltr compo and it works well on it.

The mig is just as nice, very heavy, very adjustable and the wire feed is rock steady, with a bit of prep work it will do 10mm. I got it on 0.8mm wire and argon tri mix (hobby weld 5)

Excellent units.

The mig does stick welding to 130a
