If the cheaper wire still has lots of twist in it when its wound onto the reels it can also cause arc instability as the wire flicks and tries to twist as it leaves the contact tip.

It's possible that it ws not actually the fuse Holder but a dry joint or other issue that appeared to be fixed when they replaced the fuse holder....... an intermittent fault is only ever fixed until the next time it appears.Thanks for the replies so far.
A new Parweld torch was fitted today along with a new bottle of Argon 5 gas. The roller system is a powerful 4 wheel set up that was cleaned when the welder went back to RTech with feed issues. These issues were diagnosed as a faulty fuse holder which was causing a sporadic break in the feed to the motor.
