RPC to run a 2 Post Lift?

Potentially bidding on one in a local-ish auction.

KiMM, 2.5t, 2 Post Lift. Data plate says 240/415v, but can't find anything else out.

Assuming it cannot be swapped over to 240v, would a Rotary Phase Converter be the solution?

its probably a 3 phase 240 415volt lift not single phase a rotary phase converter may work on it and it may not static converters generaly are no use even though some companys say they are

what about a small inverter they are getting a lot cheaper there days? and motors aint too bad cost wise any more really!

Yes, to be fair, it probably is 240v 415v 3 Phase. I'll assume it can be wired Delta or Star configuration, for 230v or 415v respectively, so yes, an inverter probably would work better.

But then, yes, a single phase lift could work out cheaper, but this one hasn't hit triple figures... yet!

I'd prefer a 4 post, but haven't the space unfortunately...

if it is dual voltage u would need to change the contactor coil from 415volt to a 240v one

I occasionally use a mates 4 post Bradbury & that runs fine off a static converter.

I have a 2.5T Tecalemit 2 post lift running of a 5.5kw rotary converter.

It works fine but will not lift a car from half way up.
You have to lower it till the wheels touch the ground then go to the top.
Apart from that it is A1, best thing I ever fitted, it makes working on cars a breeze.

I may be wrong but if you fit an inverter isn't there issues with the limit switches / control gear etc not operating.

Since then I have wired in a distribution board and 415v sockets from the converter and added a 3 phase saw and 2 big drills......(so far)
