I wish to paint some heavy steel beams with epoxy for my trailer.
I have used Leighs epigrip aluminium flake epoxy before. Brilliant stuff but not cheap.
In the past I would shotblast first and then brush apply. Shotblasting is very messy and time consuming with a small pressure pot.
Would a 40 grit flap disk give a rough enough surface? If not are there any other ways of roughing the steel before painting with epoxy?
