Went to use my o2 / maxigas set today and the o2 had run out, there was gas in it last time I used it, going forward I will be removing the bottles after use..
Connected a new o2 bottle and the o2 was not coming out the torch, maxigass igniting fine.
Inspection, o2 leaking from the black plastic bit at rear and rubber seal in very poor condition.
Put together a NOS set, all working fine so I know the bottles are good.
I'd like to service the old regulator rather than bin it, last time I contacted Rothernberger in UK they said they didn't do service kits, will call them Monday to see if they do servicing, if they do guessing it might be expensive, and they may not as they don't sell them in UK anymore but still do in the US I think. The controls also feel horrible at the torch end as well as the bottles.
I don't have a parts diagram and the book that comes with says nothing about servicing other than to call them.
I know you don't lube anything to do with o2 controls but apart from that not much else - other than you don't want to get it wrong even if they are small bottles.
Any advice?
