Rotary Table to convert to a welding positioner

Hi i have seen a vid of a rotary table been converted to be a moving welding table heres the vid

Are these rotary tables expensive second hand??? or can anyone think of an easier creation.

What speed do potters wheels go, I bet there are loads of failed potters ( or people who watched goast too many times) sell up on the bay

your not going to get a rotary table for less than a ton I think there about 40 to one gear ratio
