Could someone please tell me what the main differences are between the rotabroach commando and element.
Or recommend another make at a similar price.
Birthday looming and keep getting questions about what I want lol.
Will be making a stand to use as a bench drill as well as site use

Should of looked harder last night, I was looking at auction prices for the element. Under £300
So looks like it will be the commando or a vevor.

We've got both.

The element is slightly slimmer, lighter and nicer to use, especially upside down in a cherry picker basket.
The commando is the older design, it has a properly variable speed motor which is very useful, and its a more flexible machine for different jobs. It's also cheaper.

Get the commando, is my recommendation.

Also buy Raptor cutters, they're well worth the money, use with coolant or cutting oil and they'll last many hundreds of holes.

the coolant / cutting oil is vital , turns the hole count from tens to hundreds.
And always use the safety cord , or anything to tie the machine off ,,, its too easy to hit the wrong button over head and when you cant quite see ,,, sometimes the interlocks dont work the way you would want them too.

I've never used the safety cord... I just take great care in selecting the right button
The element is better for that sort of thing, has illuminated buttons which change colour (IIRC) to let you know which buttons should be pressed when. It is very user friendly.

Don't buy the Vevor!
Rotabroach are British and much better.
Mate bought 3 Vevors from Machine Mart - runout was awful. Took them back and bought Rotobroaches - much happier.
I have the Panther. Love it.

Yes I use soluble oil. Never even gets hot.

Another stupid question
If I get the commando, do I need different chucks for annular cutters and normal drill bits.
Or will it do both
Raptors are welding shank but it days it has a 13mm chuck

The commando we got delivered had a normal drill chuck and chuck key in the case.

I also have a panther ( off this forum) it’s a very good bit of kit and has made me a LOT of money!
