Rope Knots

my Magnet Fishing jobbies has now arrived, it’s like the one in the picture below

I have 25m of 8mm nylon rope.

Here begins the problem. What sort of knot do I need in the rope to secure it to the rope. I know nothing about knots.

Over to the Boy Scouts, mariners, climbers and anyone else that knows anything about tying knots in ropes

Bowline or surgeon loop even a none slip loop . Loop the loop to the loop to connect and reverse to remove after.

If go with the bowline as well because it's one of the three knots I know . Get the knots 3D app on your phone and the world is your bivalve mollusc of choice.

Bowline would work.

I prefer a barrel knot for ease of release even once loaded.

Just a figure of 8 loop knot would do it.

Bowline will be absolutely fine for 8mm rope.

Splice an eye and use a D shackle ...then you never have to untie it ...but if you wanna use it now a bowline...

Bowline would be what I would do but a couple of half hitches would work fine especially if you dipped the end through the lay.
