Hi
First post, Hi all. I've recently acquired a Rohr 250 set up and have just started to
practice weld with it. I do not have any literature with it, would anyone have a wire speed/voltage chart for this machine.
Thanks Brassic
Hi,
There won't be one, you seem to be on your own with the budget machines as far as settings go.
You will have to measure wire speed and find a chart for wire speed vs material thickness and then practice with voltage settings.
That's my amateur take on it anyway lol.
I would suggest starting with straight beads on 2 or 3mm thick steel, aiming to run an inch or two continuously. Reckon with 30 to 40 Amps per millimetre of thickness.
Turn the voltage up until it starts to burn through and the wirespeed up until you can feel the wire pushing against the work during the weld, and then back off a little from these maximum settings.
