as in sit up and beg ford pop's and such, can you still buy a fiberglass pop body and box section chassis ? l remember when l was a lad there was a company in Harlow called unique autocraft ( l think ) that used to make a 3"x2" box section chassis set up for viva front suspension jag rear and engine mounts for rover v8, is this sort of thing still available ? l am sure l could make my own chassis, is there a complete glass body on the market

Unique autocraft are long gone, Pat Cuss at Fibreglass Applications used to do a Pop glass body but it is a race weight shell, why not use a steel body, a lot easier and they are still cheap.

was it Rob at unique ? l held them in high esteem l though they did some very nice work, l went there many times, just round the corner from Dax,
l have one of autocrafts cobra "kits" in the shed un built, door hinges etc are a work of art, my retirement project lol,

l was worried that using a steel body l would be forever chasing the rust, with fiberglass l know its going to see me out ?
l should really be looking for a complete car so as l dont have to go through a iva l suppose,

Depending on what rod your after there used to be a few kits advertised in kit car mag and the hot rod mags, you need to do some whsmiths research!

Yes with a stock body you will encounter rust but it will have all the returns, locks etc etc, A glass body you will have to make everything (a pain)

If you use a box section chassis it should strictly go for for BIVA test

Rob Whitwell sounds right, l can remember standing in their workshop looking at the chassis jig, what a work of art in itself wonder where that is now, think l had chassis number 55, wow thats a long time ago when l think back lol

there were building a big block cobra painted jaguar indigo with every extra when l was sorting the purchase of mine out, it was in every mag at that time
