Shoulder Rivets
They have a shank the length of the parts to be joined.
The end part that is rolled is a reduced diameter so it doesn't trap the parts.
When I've made them,I drill a dimple in the end,makes it easier to get a roll when using a press.
The ones I've made are larger,for industrial clutches,turned from leaded steel bar,principles the same.

We use something similar at work in seat hinges, have a fancy machine called a spin riveter to pein the end over without spreading the body.
