rivnut newbie

ive just had a rivnut pull out of the sunroof fixings on my car , thin sheet steel and its just pulled out so im guessing the hole its maybe too big to accpet the same one

looking at a ebay cheapie to try and fix it , noticed theres plain round exterior ones and hex

what style should i get for the best chance of sorting this ? any other tips for a 1st time user

what parts do you mean differ from round to hex?
if you mean the adapters that screw on to the tool face,theyre both the same

well i know nothing about them...browising ebay i can see plain tubes, tubes with splines on and some the top part is hex shape

they are for tightening with your hands,round,or with a spanner,hex.
no difference in the function of the tool

youtube it,almost as simple as a normal rivet gun,just with a small bit more setting up

im not asking how to operate the tool

theres at least 3 styles of nut...i was hoping someone with some experiance could tell me whats best for thin steel...

well i know nothing about them...

hex give more grip to the base metal,and even more in a square hole.

i doubt your sunroof fixing needs that much torque
