Riveting

hi I want to rivet two steel flanges together 1/8” thick. The holes are 9/16”.
I’ve never riveted before, Do I make the rivets , can I hot rivet ? If so what grade steel ? Thanks

Go buy the rivets, for a few reasons.
Correct grade steel.
Correctly formed.
Will be as near to correct length you need, a bit of trimming will be needed.
You will be able et correct Dolly and Set.

Hot rivet is best, no damaged or stress induced.

Why do you need or want to rivet, can you not bolt or weld?

9/16” holes? That is some big rivets for material than thin.
