Riv nut alternatives

What other alternatives are their to rivnuts I am looking for something stronger to be able to bolt lorry mirror arms on to doors for example.

I've also used Lindapter Hollo-bolts before but into structural steel..........to ultimately hang PEOPLE off of where we could only get a fixing from one side.Think the M8s need a 3mm wall thickness minimum though:

If they don't work out, perhaps you'll need to make up small plates with welded on nuts that you can slip inside the door panel to line up with pre drill holes in the door skin and slip a rubber gasket between the door & the mirror mount then bolt them up with a high tensile bolt
