Can anyone explain the theory behind designing offset rising gate hinges? I.e. take these measurements of the gap/gate/rise and then this is how you design the hinge so that the gate is flat and level when closed but will open up a slope?
I need to measure up properly but I need at least an 8ft gate to open up a slope and it probably needs to rise about 16 inches but be low and level when closed to keep the dog in. I see the hinges exist but cant get my head around the design.
TIA
