That is truly shocking
I'm very upset to hear of this, I really liked that guy. He was such a gutsy rider and so modest about his skill and ability, Moto GP was privileged for him to have been there, his loss is so utterly sad.
Really, I am actually so upset, it's such awful news. I'm dreading watching that race now.
Marco, it was a pleasure to have known you, as little as I did from watching you ride and in interviews, but a pleasure and a privilege all the same. You will be sadly missed. RIP.
Sideshow Bob as the commentators called him, he was a breath of fresh air to the sport, no Prima Donna and fun to watch. Sorry to hear of his death and will not watch it even if the BBC do still televise it.
Great character, great rider, got up the noses of some of the others which was also great.
Would do things with a bike others wouldn't, reminded me of a young Rossi. So sad to see him go and must be devastating for the two riders that hit him, especially as one was his mate Rossi
My thoughts to his family and friends - a sad sad day.
Having recently seen TT Closer to the edge, the IoM film, you realise there's those that can just hang it all out and ride a bike like very few others. If it were totally safe, would motor racing be as popular? I don't ever watch motorcycling for the crashes (Aussie V8s is another kettle of fish...); with motorcycling, it's revelling on how much control over so much power through such a small contact patch and do it faster and better than the rest of the pack. All yesterday while working on my car, I thought of Marco and Colin Edwards. I would not be surprised if Edwards hung up his helmet - with three children, you'd hope so.
