What is quality like? I have noticed with some of the thin slit disks, there are a lot of cheap ones on the market, that seem to disapear quicky when you cut. Other better quality ones last a little longer

They seem very good actually. I was a bit nervous using a 1mm disc as I've never gone that thin before...had visions of it shattering and shards flying into my neck.
But yeah, cut through the 3mm steel easily and with good durability.

The answer with 1mm disks is not to force them, allow the disk to cut but use little pressure.
