Ride on Lawn Mower

I've got a Honda HF 2213 ride on lawn mower where the magnets have delaminated from the inside of the starter motor casing, both are too badly crushed to reuse.

I need to know the part number so I can look up a replacement unit

Anyone shed light on where I can find said part number. All the dealers are quite unhelpful and only want to sell me a new unit at a cost of nearly 300 quid

I very much doubt if the magnets are available as a separate part but you may be able to buy the "body" with magnets bonded in. The usual reason for such damage is either the motor being hit to free "a jammed starter " or the starter being squeezed in a vice while fitting a new pinion - both to be avoided!!
You best bet is a decent used unit from a " mower breaker". If you can't find anything local to you, pm me and I'll give you a couple of phone numbers.

Might be worth contacting one of the Jap bike spares companies such as Electrex as Honda probably use the same starter motor in a number of uses?.

mu missus grandfather has a Honda ride on that has pretty much the same motor as a quad, probably interchangeable
