RF interference caused by Tig?

Supposing someone was wanting to make a wireless foot pedal, would the HF start likely cause problems for a 2.4 gHZ wireless RF module?

quite possibly.... the tig set is a spark transmitter

the 2.4Ghz spectrum is free, because no one wanted it. Microwaved use it because its the resonant frequency of water molecules. Thus water will soak up the radiation. All the other devices that now use it will produce and electrosmog or polution . most things now use spread spectrum to get around the interference, but thats the reason you never get the full speed of wifi. Its a trade off between fixed high speed and slower mobility

Just use a cable. it not as if you are going to be needing it to be mobile.

I run a wireless pedal on my Miller tig,
believe me its not an gimmick, a lot of my work is vehicle based so every time i need the feed to torch cable to where i'm working i now no longer need to run the pedal cable as well, saves no end of time, knots and trip hazards,
If you'd used one you would see the benefit,
i certainly wouldn't like to return to a wired pedal again.

I'm sure a wired one would be fine for me but I like playing with electronics and I would enjoy making it, there's also the satisfaction of having saved hundreds over a Miller pedal and having the only home made wireless pedal (That I know of). I like the look of these because they're cheap as chips, what do you think? With an ATtiny in the pedal and receiver to control everything, I could also build in a pulse function like the thing Jattus made if I wanted to.

I'm not sure on exactly how you would do it, but I'm sure with pre-built modules for the tx/rx it should be simple-ish

I bought a cheap remote shutter release that used 2.4ghz, sadly just about everything from key fobs to the dog farting set it off, a better one however is fine so a lot depends on the implementation

I may just have to buy them and have a play. There's no tx/rx, it uses an SPI (serial peripheral interface), there's a clock line, a MISO (master in slave out), MOSI (master out, slave in) and SS (slave select) which would choose between sending data to the digital pot and receiving data from the wireless module.

All the above and you struggle with an induction milling motor all the above is another laungauge to me which i dont talk

By tx/rx I meant transmitter/receiver modules, it's been 16 years since I did anything at college with electronics so may be rusty on the terminology
