return to welding after quite a while off

well, I haven't done any electrical welding for quite some time now, mostly been focussing on being an electrician and using oxy fuel welding equipment.

got hold of a calor butane bottle yesterday and decided to break out the welders and see what I could make happen.

the MMA side of things is great, its like I never stopped, but the mig side of things is shocking.

cant hold a bead, cant weld fillets or laps, can only just weld outside corners and uphill just doesn't work lol

looks like I need to find a few more little mig projects to get my eye back in

I have had trouble a couple of times welding on gas bottles,It was because of the quite heavy galvanising, cured it by grinding it clean (safely),tried 2 different migs and by far the worst dealing with the galv was my Kemppi 180. in all other respects the Kemppi is superb!!

I haven't tried the mig on the gas bottle yet.

use arc welder to stick the legs on and was planning on using mig to put chimney on but after practicing on som flat 4mm plate and failing, I think I might arc weld the pipe on top instead lol
