Heh heh I might wear me autoshield welding helmet and thick gloves, might chop a little bit more of the rocket jet nozzle its sitting a bit too close to the launch pad
thanks Strada, I have suprised myself, I thought my old stick welder wouldn't be upto the job and was going to save up for an inverter stick from mr weldquip, but it seems to be coping with what I am using it for, and as me dad used to say to me "If it works, leave it alone"
Stick is great if one is prepared to practice. Before I got a mig, I built loads of wood stoves on a commercial basis. The mig made the detail work a lot easier.
I will sketch up the first one I made (in '78, from a gas bottle..) and the later sheet version when I thought selling gas bottle stoves might bring down some trouble from the gas co.s

I'd be quite happy if I could make enough money to buy a secondhand mig from selling these, without going into detail of circumstances the theraputic value is much more important at the moment, there are some great people on here, and it feels good to be part of
Well I pretty much finished the "Rocket" theme chimnea today, if i can stop my hands shaking I know can get the welds better, so don't be too harsh on me , just looking at the nose cone area, I'm thinking of shaving the shoulders off so to speak, bringing the tip down at a more shallow curve, looks a tad top heavy?
Do you think IT would be better off with 3.2 rods?, I read somewhere they were a bit more forgiving than the 6013 2.5 rods I am using now, or am I best getting the funds together for a mig welder?
