For what they cost, just get a new one.
yep hoses are best left flat and rolled out otherwise cfm is lost and it holds moisture in the rollsI have the Clarke version of this. There's a mechanism inside that moves left-right as the hose is rolled. It lays the hose out evenly on the roll, so that each "wrap" is next to the last one. This mechanism is probably too tight to allow any sort of coupling through.
Mine rarely gets used as it's too restrictive to power a tool properly. Blow gun only.
