Resin anchors in damp block work

I've got some steelwork to bolt to a concrete block wall using resin anchors, problem is it was chucking it down all day yesterday and the wall is soaking wet now.

I've googled it and can't find out how damp tolerant the stuff is, closest I've got is that Fischer do a specific resin for using under water but nothing else mentions how damp/wet the materials can be and still get a decent fixing

Any ideas?

Once you start drilling,unless the block is really pourris,i think you'll find it'll be quite dry the deeper you go in(how deep you drilling?).
Few years back we'd spray a fine mist of water in the hole so the block didn't soak the resin in so much

I have put loads of resin bolts in to caves in very wet conditions
The temperature was the only limiting factor ( - 5 deg C) rings a bell
The limestone is dry inside
The block should also be dry once you get in to it

When I drilled the concrete pads for my barn I started with a diamond core drill and water which was rubbish so I switched to a normal dry SDS drill. When I came to gun in the Fisher chemical fixing it went sloppy in the wet holes but was fine in the dry holes. As it was it set fine in all the holes, wet or dry but the drier you can keep the holes the better.

Sounds like I'm worrying too much it's started to chuck it down again today so that's the job stuffed until next my next free day on Sunday next week

Annoying thing is I'm trying to get a lean to / car port built over my camper to keep it/me dry while I work on it.

Also the heat generated by drilling the hole will dry it out to a degree

The biggest problem is dust or sludge in the case of wet blocks but like someone mentioned the drilling helps to dry the hole

In the case of heavy concrete they should be dry inside anyway

and if it wasnt the drill would slow down start to bind and turn the water in to steam pressurise and blast u in the face with hot dust

There is resin for interior use , predominantly dry , warm etc , but there is also an exterior version , which is more tolerant of the cold and can be used in damp conditions . I'd already thought about getting a low temperature resin, the stuff I've got takes about 2 hours to set at 10 deg c and the days are already short enough without waiting for resin

Relchem 2 is OK you can use it in wet. Cold. Dust and poor mixing are the bugs to iron out
