Repurposing some IKEA kitchen cabinets

I plan to use some of my old kitchen cabinets for use in the utility room. On inspection it looks like the cabinets are sitting on a single long metal frame.

Does anyone know if these frames are modular and can be modified to be a shorter run.

My experience of fitting an IKEA kitchen (the METOD model) is that the cabinets hang on these rails https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/metod-suspension-rail-galvanised-60205664/ . It's not a problem cutting them to the required length.
I can't speak for the version prior to METOD which yours may be.

you will find there either made to measure or can be made on site so easily sorted out

there also used within the shop fitting side of it

Can't see how the heights adjustable though.

I've found the best way to repurpose IKEA is into a bonfire.

Hate fitting the stuff when it's new let alone after it's been fitted for years

It's a welding site, I guess you weld, I'd say they could be altered easily, chop some out weld back together to suit

I'll just need to suck it and see. My plan is to move the rear partition wall forwards a metre or so and put a shower and WC in the rear and convert the kitchen area into a utility room. I'll raise the entire floor area by 100mm or so to make the plumbing easier as it's a solid concrete slab out there and also a step down into it at the moment.

IKEA or B&Q, find someone else to fit it I say.

Absolute garbage, not that the rest of the are terribly much better.

Hoping to help change that soon though!

Couldn't complain about the Cooke and Lewis kitchens. They weren't bad at all. Usually missing parts that let em down when I fitted for em on Jersey.

B&Q cabinet doors can be 2mm different to each other, makes them impossible to line through.

I fitted this diy-kitchens kitchen, no missing parts and no damage to any part, I'd recommend them.

Not seen anything like it from Howdens, as much as they are junk.

These issues shouldn't exist, they are made on CNC centres.

Even my entry level CNC router can hold tolerances (significantly) better than that.

Aye but things slip through the net.

I keep better tolerance with a tracksaw and parallels. I baulked at the cost but worthwhile as I'm always mobile.

When we eventually buy il be building a workshop and hope to get back into building kitchens and bedroom furniture off site for myself

Got to the bottom of the Ikeas units today (snigger). First, wall units off.

Then the base units just lifted off the frame. The frame looks like it can easily be cut to size to suit any changes.

Next I got the windscreen cheese cutter out to try to remove the glass splash back.

Turns out there was no chance of that working, the wire kept snapping as the glue was too strong, so out with the hammer.

Then got the room cleared.

Some of the electrics I uncovered were very poor. Flex coming down from the roof space lighting circuit to a splitter and going on to a 13A socket.

Not just one socket but two on a lighting circuit.

Admittedly, one was for the extractor and the other for the gas cooker igniter, but still bad practice.
