I'm converting a bathroom into a kitchen and need to convert the light pull switch into a normal wall light switch.
This is what I have just now on the ceiling, looks like a live cable in and out plus two switched cables for the ceiling and wall lights.
I cut this hole for the new wall switch and luckily the cable for the wall light is accessable, it goes from the pull switch, down the wall, under the floor and up to the old mirror. The wall light will no longer be used so it is a spare cable.
So I think the original circuit is like this.
I want to do this to covert the old wall light cable to be used to switch the roof light. Take the pull cord off and wire like this.
Are there any regs to prevent me doing this? It will save a lot of replastering and damage to the cornice if I can do it.
