Replacing missing coventry gauge blocks + Zoro code wanted

I have an incomplete set of Imperial gauge blocks. I don't use them often but the size I wanted today (0.1") was missing from the set. I needed two of that size for work on a compound sine table.

I know that I can purchase most of the needed replacements from Zoro but I'm uncertain whether they will fit the box placeholders, and a mis-match will be annoying. Also, I'm wondering whether I shouldn't just buy a new complete set (plus one extra 0.1" if required). I would rather not waste money on something rarely used.

Any thoughts? Does anyone have a Zoro discount code? I believe I saw (and "liked") one a few days ago but now I can't find it.

I found this, which might be interesting:

It references BS 4311 as the standard for imperial gauge blocks (ISO 3650 above is, strictly speaking, for metric blocks). Scribd has a copy of the 2007 version of the BS and the dimensions are the same.

Left-right in your picture, the blocks have to fit. Up-down, you might be able to remove the cross bar and deepen the slot. It is not easy to see if anything could be done in the bottom-of-box to top-of-box direction.

At worst, you could ask someone with a surface grinder to modify the blocks to fit the box - the parts they would grind are not the reference surfaces.

The box looks like bakelite/paxolin/tufnol. They sure did not want the lid to fall off with three hinges.

Grinding the blocks is something I can do myself if I have to.

You are right about the box - looks like Bakelite to me.
