In the workshop I have 6 or so small grinders on the go: cup brush, polystrip, grinder, cutting disc, Zirconium disc etc. My low rent solution for re-flexing 4 1/2" angle grinders (most of which seem to be supplied with a ridiculously short lead) is to re-use the cables off dead vacuum cleaners that I find left outside for the pikies/at the local dump etc.
Modern hoover type appliances have a decent length of lead and all have 1000W+ motors, so the cable is easily up to running a 4 1/2" grinder. Never come across a modern grinder that isn't double insulated, so the lack of an earth on the vacuum cleaner lead isn't a problem.
