Replacement Vice Spring, Washer and Split Pin....

Record 75 Vice

I've had an annoying grind/click when using my vice recently, so investigated it yesterday..
The spring has been trying to escape from the retaining washer, and had partially succeeded.

I had trouble trying to get near the split pin, but managed to pry the spring out...they're quite long!!

Question now, is where can I get a replacement Spring, Washer and Split pin?

I've had a good search, but not found one relating specifically to the 75.
But notice that kits were/are available....

Washer seems to be about 26mm inside and 35mm outside diameter...
Spring must be similar outside diameter, possibly was 100mm (4 inches) long...

Any spring of similar dimensions and strength will do, Even a couple of engine valve springs end to end.

Had a look this morning and the only ones I have are 35mm OD x 50mm long [use two?], but the ID is only 20mm so no use for your purpose I guess.
Unless the job could be altered to make them fit, which looks unlikely.

Managed to get a spring from local Engineering shop, large washer and spring pin from another shop....

All items for under a fiver...

I used to pass the original Eliza Tinsley factory (est. 1853) near Cradley Heath on my way to work, now another housing estate with just a road named after her as a reminder.
