I have a small, belt driven, compressor here that needs a new belt.
The original belt had had all sorts spilt on it, was partially delaminated, and would spin off after 15 seconds or so. I cut and measured the remains to be aprox 43.5".
Here's a list of other points -
My question is -
A section or B?
Length? (again, the unit has no scope for tensioning once fitted)
These are the items ive been looking at -
A section sizes -
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/A-SECTION...t=LH_DefaultDomain_3&var=&hash=item2c63ffa264
ie A40 or A41?
B section sizes -
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/V-BELT-B2...t=LH_DefaultDomain_3&var=&hash=item2c60220fc7
ie B39 or B40?
Could anyone advise? I have no experience in this area at all, and dont know how the sizing relates to the tension. Ie if i order a 42" belt, given my 43" measurement, am i ever going to be able to get it on, and will the tension be far too great if i do?
Thank you.

- Unit has no adjustment - motor and pump are a fixed distance from each other.
- Unit is about 2hp
- I measured the untensiond OD with a bit of 10amp 3core, and that was pretty much spot on 43"
