Replacement lenses...where to get some??

Not sure if this is in the right forum, so apologies if its not.

I have recently purchased a second hand mig welder, a mac tools one i think. I got an ESAB mask with it, but i dont think the clear plastic shield has been used as the lens is coverd with weld spatter, rendering it useless.

I have searched on eBay and google but not had much luck. Could anyone point me in the right direction as to where i can get a replacement?

If its going to cost alot i may just buy a new mask!!

Unfortunately the replacement lens will cost as much as a new helmet (in some cases even more!) . There should have been a sacrificial clear plastic screen in front of the 'working' lens to protect it, and another behind it.
If (when) you get a new helmet, make sure you buy some spare clear screens as they can soon get like the one in your photo.

Edit: Just reread your post - you obviously already know about the clear screens

What an absolute waste of a cartridge . I can't believe someone could do that for the sake of a quid's worth of cover lens.

Yeah i was abit miffed when i got it. But then for what i paid for the welder, not a massive problem. Looks like plan b and the purchase of a new helmet is the order of the day then!!

I have been looking at helmets on eBay, anything to avoid/know?? I'm not looking to spend a fortune, say arond £50?

I did think i would have to buy a new helmet, but never hurts to ask!! Thanks for the answers!!

Be wary of the cheapo Ebay ones. You need something that conforms to the various standards, and will give the proper protection. Some people on here have this one, which is well within your budget and has been given good feedback on here. The seller is also a respected member of this forum.
