Replacement garage lighting

I've come to the conclusion that my 24yr old fluorescent light fittings in my garage are probably due for replacement.

Especially as one needs a new starter and the other is struggling to put out any useful light at all.

Anyone have experience of these type:

Just for info, I've got 4 units spread equally around in a double garage and the arrangement seems to work well for my needs.

As the fluorescents in my garage/workshop have packed in, I've replaced them with LED tubes, just looped out all the starter/ballast wiring and fitted T8 LED tubes as Bricol suggests. The increase in light output is really noticeable from the LED units. -Mine were quite a bit more expensive from my local electrical wholesaler than those in the hyperlink -I will be keeping the Ledkia link for future reference.

I've looked at the link supplied by Bricol and in particular, the technical info on the tubes I need. There's a small difference in the tube diameters (mine are 26mm the ones from Ledkia are 28mm) but this won't be a problem with my existing set up.

The only query I have is whether or not the pins at the end of the tube will fit into my existing fittings or will they be different centres in line with the difference in diameters? The tubes I currently have are 12mm pin centres.

I'm going to call Ledkia to see if they can give me this info unless someone can measure a tube for me?

The pins are standard and should fit into any standard fluorescent fitting!

cool I like the look and price of those might have to invest soon I am getting tired of fiddling with the tubes to make the light up

They do seem okay so far - I bought some SES fitting golf-ball LEDs from the same lot at the same time - and two of those failed pretty quickly, but they are of different make to the tubes.

I would have fitted LED a few years ago when I built the garage, but the cost then was silly - they have dropped a lot since!

just be aware that ledkia has some pretty bad reviews, mainly based on the fact that their based in spain and not the uk, so if anything goes wrong its going to be a ballache
