Replacement bearing for Metabo mitre saw

Have my KGS254m saw in bits just now after it started making a rough noise, the bearing numbered 65
on this website has collapsed...

should any 12x28x8 bearing be fine or should I get the more expensive ‘official’ part

was thinking getting these...

Don't buy the Amazon ones. Is the time and expense of rectifying it a second time really only worth £1.39 to you?

The official ones is too expensive.

Any name brand bearing of the correct size will do. SKF, FAG, KOYO, etc. Look on Simply Bearings site and choose the 'high quality brand name' filter and but for £4.78. For a single bearing eBay can be cheaper overall so long as you are sure it is a genuine, branded item being supplied.

Echo that but be careful if you pay by Paypal. Just bought a couple of bearings off them & Paypal only supplied my partial address which ended in the parcel bouncing back to bearingboys, however the post office didn’t cover themselves in any glory as the parcel had my name & postcode, simple enough to tie the two together RonA

I've found Bearing Boys to be very helpful.

Interesting - I discovered them the other day and ordered some cutting discs from them - all good.

I normally get my bearings from these people, mainly becuase they are local to me.

Are the original bearings rubber or metal sealed? Have a close look at the bearing and see if there are any numbers on the outer race.

Old bearing came out in bits...Rubber seal tho and CHL and 6001rs printed on the bearing at the other end of the motor, which is the same bearing according to that exploded view

I’m guessing the RS is rubber seal? So no variations of 6001RS but could be differences if just going by size ?(12x28x8)

Yes, RS is rubber seal, usually marked 2RS for both sides.

cheap isn't neccesarily good, best advice is to go for a decent make, from a decent supplier. makers like SKF, FAG, etc, the quality is worth the small diference in price. Based on years of maintenenace and repair, personally I stick with SKF every time if I can get them in the size, never had a problem..
