Repairing 2" Ball Valves

Hi all, just thought I'd pick your brains...

I've got several ball valves that got split last winter, and being as they're not exactly cheap I'd like to repair them. Any ideas, or are they just fit for the scrap bin (wont be putting more than about 10bar through them, tops)?

That looks like scrap to me I'm afraid. They're cast, and look like brass, so I don't think there are any easy, cheap or durable fixes. Are you sure they aren't cheap to replace? What size are they and what do you think the price is?

Some of those ball valves are chrome plated brass,regardless of the composition ,I wouldn't trust a weld repaired valve at 10bar.....I only fit valves paid for by employers,but I would not risk it ,only my opinion though

The bodies are probably distorted so they'd probably leak anyway.

Just did the same .....cheap considering you can strip and weigh in the old valves...

Look at the BES site, I bought some new ones for my air line and they were a couple of quid each[1/2 bsp], though that one looks a bit bigger.

As mentioned above, they will be distorted and leak.

Thats a good price, you'll be doing well to find them cheaper.

Ok, so it seems like the general concensus is to scrap them then.

Tbh I've been paying alot more for them locally, and you're right, at £14 delivered it hardly seems worth the effort of fixing them just for them to possibly leak anyway.
