Repairable ?

Hi lads ,my uncle now has a Thermal arc ac/dc tig inverter and with me working my 6 weeks holidays and any other holidays i can he said that i can permanently borrow his previous IFL dc set if i get it fixed, i just want to know if any on you can tell me if you think this is repairable by IFL themselves without changing the boards? I will get in contact with them soon but just wanted to ask some opinions before i send it off.
One off the knobs has snapped off when one of them muppets hit it when lowering it back onto the truck.

If possible i would also like to have it serviced as its a bit rough on the edges haha,cheers

I don't think that's too hard a repair. It's only a pot that the kno was connected to. I also have one of those units, but it's a bit more poorly than that

Thanks for the reply shox ,is it likely to be expensive since this is out of waranty? and how did you rate your unit ?

I never used it. A lad I worked with did and he liked it. No idea on cost to repair

Id have thought anyone with a little elecronics knowledge and a soldering iron would be able to sort that, match up a new pot, de-solder, re-solder....

One of my uncles old employees did try but failed,i can solder and do have a soldering iron but would rather have it properly repaired ,thanks

IFL are just down the road from me and I get my consumables from then.
Really nice guy. It normally takes me at least half an hour just to buy gloves cause we always end up chatting.

Hi mate ,i had already emailed Graham and he replied to me today, its working out £77 plu postage to replace the circuit board and encoder ,ringing him when i have his number to arrange postage thanks all i will let you know how it goes.
