Repair To Water Jet Cutter

Water jet cutter at work sprang a leek on one of the stainless steel pipes,new one was ordered but wouldnt arrive till Thursday so Boss had an idea to bore out a bit of bar,slide it over the split in the pipe and weld either side.
The water jet cutter runs at 33,000 PSI so i was convinced the welds would not hold but they did!,i was pretty chuffed and just felt the need to share this!!
I think i might ask for a pay rise

I would still prefer to find jobs some distance from cutter just in case

Was it MIG or TIG?

It comes out the end at 33000psi, but is the pipe you repaired presuriseed that much?

Not sure where or how the pressure is achieved in them machines...

Must be a positive-displacement pump similar to the high-pressure drain jetters, with much less flow (0.7mm jet instead of 2mm). The garnet is fed in at the nozzle somehow.

Dont expect, pressure was so great at repair point but hey it made me smile
