Repair to cylinder head using mig braze

I think the re may be a small crack between the water jacket and the outside on the cylinder head of my MGB. It is one of the rare 2709 castings so I don't want to scrap it.

If I try and mig braze the crack would it be better to create a V shaped groove along the crack first?

If its rare its probably worth getting someone to look at it, my dads had some castings repaired using metal stitching, they were alloy but I think the process is the same.

We did think about welding but it turned out to be un weldable and the alternative was a new casting for a small fortune, the stitching worked well and from the outside you can barely see it.

You shouldn't need to V out for braze it works on capillary action so the tighter the gap the easier it will be to fill in theory.

He's on a bout use a MIG with brazing wire, so not the same process.

Chances are not good, but...

What's thw welder? Max Amps. Have you access to lots of Heat ie Propane or large oven would be better
