Hi Guys,
I have recently bought a AB Arboga Maskineer drill / mill machine and the table has definatley seen better days, it has been quite badly pitted by what I assume was a long positioned vice or something like that and has some nasty drill / end mill scars which make the surface uneven.
I was thinking of welding up these holes using the mig and grinding them back to eventually take and have surface ground, or perhaps skimm with the miller itself, depending how flush I am feeling.
I think the bed is some form of ductile iron as it has dents on the edge not cracks and chips etc, would this take a weld?
So I need to know:
1. Whats the best way / standard way to repair this type of damage.
2. Does anyone have any suggestions how to make the repair with the tools I have, I have access to MIG and TIG.
Cheers
