renting a workshop unit

How much do you guy pay for renting a unit and how many sqft.
I dont know much about renting units or how to find one.
I want one so i can work on an old van im trying to fix up, welding, blasting, spraying ect so i think i would need about 500 sqft, is there any other fee's or anything to go on top of the rental fee

1100 square feet £400 plus vat per month plus you would have business rates then your bills, all business premises have a water meter aswell

mines around 1350 SQFT and is £135 per week cash. I don't pay rates due to small business rates relief and I use The Utility Warehouse for my bills. I have my mobile phone, landline, WIFI and electric on one bill which is around £150 per month. For some reason the water meter is only on the toilet so as the saying goes..... If its yellow, let it mellow. If its brown, flush it down!!!

Don't know personally. I only sorted mine out once they caught up with me recently and ive been here nearly two years

Yes, because its what kind of unit it is that counts, not what you use it for afaik. At the moment there is a small business rate relief programme though, which mean basically if it's a small unit you don't have to pay the rates.

i rent 1000sqft for 250 a month which includes all the bills bar business rates, but where i dont run a business its just to work on my own projects and share it with my cousin and a very good friend, we dont pay business rates, it took ages to get it sorted at the council though

I've been renting 300 square feet for £175 per month. Only other charge is electric which is hardly anything.

A mate of mine grew a load of beetroot, he is also one of the people the colour goes through. He made a pig of himself on these, later stood at the public urinal & the bloke next door tried to get him to see a doctor. I don't know if they do it to me, I can't stand the things.

Ah, memories of being fed stewed Rhubarb by my grandmother. It had the same effect on me and I was marched to the doctor.

Not food related, but the one thing I remember about my grandmother ( she lived next door) when I was about 6 years old, if she was helping my mother out by wash us kids in the morning, she was certainly rough/ thorough with the flannel and carbolic soap, you had to check your ears afterwards just to make sure she hadn't rubbed them off. Sort of gave you a rosy glow to go off to school.

Grandmas always used to polish you with sandpaper flannels, I don't know what happened but this generation of grandmas seem to have lost the knack!

They also appeared 200 years old & just sat flumped in a chair. I'm a grandparent, I go walking, cycling, swimming whatever with my grandson. He's 13 & I've taken him mountain biking before now. Off to France with my son, partner & grandson next week, expect to bash out a few kilometres there as well.

Somehow I don't think we're supposed to...
Meanwhile, back on topic, I pay £255 a month for 400 square feet plus rates when applicable, £10 a month towards the communal loo, which is spotless, and electricity, which is negligible. In fact I'm happier when I do have a bill leccy bill as it means I've been churning out some work! The unit also has enough three phase to run my big esab 400 amp mig too.

Thanks for that guys, i now have a good idear how much to pay and how much space to get ect, Ill have a look round the local units for phone numbers, ill steer clear of the beetroot though ☺
