Rent free gas in Northern Ireland

Hey, was wondering if anyone on here knew of any rent free gas suppliers in Northern Ireland?? Need some gas and dont fancy having to pay rental on a bottle I am not going to be using that much.

was just wondering that myself, not a chance am i selling my soul to BOC, theres an airproducts distributor just round the corner from me but i think they are still rental? will have to try and find out. There are a few members on here from NI mate so someone should hopefully know

Yeah I have air products about 10 mins as well I do think they still charge rental, might need to inquire as to how much. Hopefully someone will know of a rent free supplier, I feel we are missing out with all those rent free suppliers in England!!!

have recieved a reply from Gasman, unfortunatly he has no agents/ contacts over here but will keep us informed if there are any improvements. Have you been to your local airproducts distributor BMAK? i think they're rental prices may be quite reasonable, i take it you will be a very low volume user mate?

Thats annoying!!! Nope haven't been yet might call in tomorrow or Tuesday see what they say, I have been told they are easy to deal with by a salesman in my local welding supply shop, was given a name but have forgotten that now. Ill keep you posted!! Yeah very low user mainly diy and hobby stuff, but still not low enough to fork out for disposable bottles!! they are just rediculous have used 2 for a very small amount of weld, and have been using flux-cored since. would like to go back to gas though.

Would that not just mean they pay the rental on the bottle instead of you?

Was with the Air Products dealer today, great to deal with, gave me the full 15% discount on the price of the cylinder straight away, said there was none on the rental so the following is the deal: (all +VAT)

thats called the 2 cylinder shuffle, you "aquire" an empty bottle that has managed to escape the rental system, hire out a new full bottle, then take the empty one back a few days later, voila one full bottle with no rental

Ive been trying for ages to find one as well. Ive one local supplier who sells C02 but not argon. its £19.00 a bottle.

i think the bottle cost me £62.00 a few years back and the last refill i got was £19.00 about 2 months ago. The bottle is medium sized, i think the bottle holds 30lbs. The shop is in Ballynahinch Co Down. Browns hardware.

i was pricing gas the other day. a supplier in Ballymena said that i could buy a waist height oxygen bottle for £120 and i think it was £30 for a refill. any where else i rung was looking £130 for a year long rental of a bottle.
