removing wheel

dad as lost removal socket for 307.
instead of bringing it up so i could a remover on it he tried getting it off and completely knacked it.
now can i arc weld a nut onto remains or are there computers and bits on his car that will be damaged?

you'd be better getting a cylinder head BOLT (cos they're hard) cutting it to about 5 or 6 inches long. Grind a chamfer on the end opposite the head. Then weld the chamfered end onto the locknut. I build weld up all around it in sort of stiches and fil the top of the locknut and a good 15 to 20mm up the bolt. It will blacken the wheel or get some plumbers heat resiting spray and spray around the nut hole first to protect the alloy. Then squirt the welded bit with water in a washing up liquid bottle while applky torque to the welded on cylinder head bolt it will come off iI do it regulary.
