Removing shower mixer taps

Struggling with this.
Got as far as loosening the two water inlet pipe nuts,the out is already off, they seem to be off the threads, whole thing waggles slightly.
Is it just a case of keep waggling or is it jammed against the olives and needs pipes cutting the other side of the wall?

Look on the underside , there is normaly a small grub screw which locates the body on to a groove In the back plate

as above and also take your top pipe off otherwise it jams it when pulling forward

you still have 10-20mm inside

no that apears like the lock and seal connection not a compression seal otherwise olive would be left high and low

but if your prepared to cut and solder to extend them then yes with 2 chrome straight connectors or 2 compression connectors becareful though not all of them are the same width as chrome plated pipe or 15mm pipe so check first before cutting

normally its move the whole lot down as one unit

What are you trying to achieve ? Is it just to remove the diverter ?

The length of riser pipe on the original mixer is 18mm od, with the nuts each end to match.
The new mixer takes a 15mm pipe and I need to join the two.
All I could think of is get a chrome 18mm to 15mm coupling and a small length of 15mm chrome pipe to join the 18mm and 15mm together.

Just seen the price of chrome pipe as well..

These are probably better pics.
This is the original riser from the mixer I took off.
The new mixer needs a 15mm riser.
As I want to use the rest of the original shower (which is all 18mm pipe) this means getting a piece of 15mm chrome tube to come off the new mixer and a 15mm to 18mm chrome coupler to join to this original pipe.
Would this work?

Finally sourced a 18 to 15mm reducer coupler so tried to crack on only to find the nuts on the new fitting to the 15mm hot and cold inlets are different. The top pic shows the new fitting against the inlet,the will not fit together, the middle is the riser coupler I got for the two pipes, the bottom is the thread of the new fitting next to the old fitting, are they different threads?
Is the only way round it to cut the old pipes off the other side of the wall to get the new olives and nuts that came with the new mixer on?
Starting to lose the will to live..

It is usually possible to slide the old olives off the pipe providing someone hasn't over tightened them in the first place and crushed the pipe. Carefully put a pair of pipe grips behind the nut and onto the end of the pipe and give them a gentle squeeze.

Cheers, managed to tap the pipes a bit on the other side of the wall, this gave me enough pipe to slide the nuts back and reveal the olives, which slid off easily.
Had to go to work then, so hopefully get it finished tomorrow..
