Removing rust from vehicle paint

This was brought up a few weeks back on here and I can’t find it…..

I’ve got a load of small spots on my truck from airborne metal. Not necessarily sparks from grinding, I think a lot is where I’ve been using the grinder in the workshop with the door open and the bits have been blown out and onto the paint.

How do I get it out / cut it back? It’s being sign written next week so I’d like it to be as good as I can before they do it.

There was a product mentioned in the other thread but I’ve no idea what it was called and cant find the thread

And just ran a clay bar over it afterwards. Worked an absolute treat.

Iron out and a clay bar will sort it if it's dust, not so easy if it's been sparks directed at the paint

Korrosol is a fallout remover which clears metallic particles from paints and lacquers.

I think it gets on lots of vehicles and I sure read somewhere that if a car was store near a railway where trains are slowing it's very common.

My mate's wife bought a brand new Focus RS, they got it professionally ceramic coated and the people who did it said they had to do quite a bit paint refining and fallout removal and that was a car straight from the main dealer with no miles.

Oxalic acid. Pence compared to iron x or other fallout remover.

Spray on then agitate lightly if possible. Do not allow to dry. Works better mixed with warm water.

Have you tried it against Iron X or pure oxalic acid?

Thanks for the suggestions gents. I’ll try oxalis acid and see how it goes. I’ve a load of UPVC window sills to do for Project Management also, so hoping it’ll do both jobs.
